Developer creates Pokémon Go client for Windows 10 Mobile
A developer has created a version of Pokémon Go for the Universal Windows Platform. The client is sideloaded on Windows 10 Mobile and the project’s code has been released on Github.
The developer has tentatively called the app PoGo-UWP and announced it on Reddit. The app is not in the Windows Store and does not work on Windows 8.1, although such a version can be made based on the source code, which developer ST Apps has put on Github.
Users must have a Pokémon Trainer Club account to use the app. This can be created via the official website or existing iOS and Android apps. Then they can put the appx file and its certificate on their Windows 10 Mobile device and install it after enabling sideloading.
Not all functions of Pokémon Go are working yet. For example, support for Gyms, Eggs and the Pokédex is missing. In addition, there is only 2D display and support for Google logins has yet to be added. In addition, the developer warns that the beta app may crash frequently. However, Windows 10 Mobile users can catch Pokémon and use the Stops.
There is no official Windows 10 app for Pokémon Go and no announcement has been made, despite repeated calls from the community. A petition for this has nearly 100,000 votes on Change.org.
