According to rumors, Nvidia plans to unveil its upcoming GeForce graphics cards on or around September 9, which are believed to be released in the RTX 3000 series. These GPUs are based on Nvidia’s Ampere architecture and will succeed the current RTX 2000 cards.

The information comes from YouTube channel Gamers Nexus, which relies on board partners from Nvidia. Prices of the upcoming video cards are not yet known. The sources of Gamers Nexus do not specify which RTX models Nvidia will reveal. In recent years, Nvidia first presented its more high-end GPUs, such as the company did with the announcement of the RTX 2080 Ti, RTX 2080 and RTX 2070. Mid-range variants, such as the RTX 2060, followed a few months later .

According to anonymous sources from Wccftech, Nvidia will initially come with replacements for the 2080 Ti, 2080 Super and 2070 Super, which should be released later in September. A release date for a 2060 Super replacement is not yet mentioned. Wccftech more frequently publishes information about unannounced hardware, but its accuracy is hit and miss. This information should therefore be taken with a grain of salt.

Those video cards would become available with varying amounts of video memory, according to Wccftech. The most high-end video card, for example, would have 24GB of vram. The GPU manufacturer would also come up with a video card with 20GB of memory; earlier rumors were circulating about such a GPU. A 2070 Super replacement would be available with 8 or 16GB of video memory, while a 2060 Super replacement would get 8GB.

Previously, further rumors circulated that Nvidia would stop producing its RTX 2070 Super video cards. This is incorrect according to Gamers Nexus sources; some of the ‘largest video card manufacturers’ are still ordering RTX 2070 Super GPUs from Nvidia and video cards based on this chip are currently still being produced.
