Serious Sam 4 should have been released this month, but publisher Devolver Digital has announced that the release will be pushed back to September 24. A reason for the postponement of about a month is not given.

The publisher’s Serious Sam 4 game page still mentions August 2020, but the company announces through a short YouTube video that the title will be released on Steam and Google Stadia on September 24. In line with the not-too-serious tone of the Serious Sam game series, the short video shows a person with two bombs and no head running towards the text on September 24. The title will cost 40 euros on Steam.

Croatian developer Croteam revealed in May that in-game players can expect levels with hundreds of thousands of enemies. There is also a map of 128 by 128 kilometers and there is support for an online co-op mode for four players. Gameplay footage of Serious Sam 4 was released a month ago.

Serious Sam 4 will again revolve around chaotic gunfights with hordes of aliens, using a wide variety of weapons. This is also reflected in the description under the YouTube video, which says Earth is being invaded by the hordes of the alien genius Mental, as Sam Stone and a group of failed commandos take on as the last resistance to the invasion.
