TP-Link Introduces Three Band Deco X90 Mesh Router and Game Router with 802.11ax
TP-Link has added new 802.11ax routers to its range. The company releases, among other things, the Deco X90, a three-band mesh system with a maximum theoretical throughput of 6579Mbit/s. The Archer GX90 also appears for gamers.
The Deco X90 offers Wi-Fi 6 support using 802.11ax radios. The router achieves speeds of 574Mbit/s on 2.4GHz, 1201Mbit/s on 5GHz and 4804Mbit/s on 5GHz. All three bands can be used as backhaul between the router and satellite. Up to two hundred devices can be connected to the mesh system and the two routers offer a range of 557 square meters. The device is also equipped with a 2.5 Gbit/s Wanport. The Deco X90, with two units as standard, will be available in the US in April for $450. A duo package of the two-band Deco X60 will be released in March for $270. TP-Link announced the three-unit X60 last September.
TP-Link will also release the Archer AX90 and GX90 this year. In both cases, these are three-band AX6600 routers with support for Wi-Fi 6, offering 574Mbit/s on 2.4GHz, 1201Mbit/s on 5GHz and 4804Mbit/s on 5GHz. The AX90 includes eight antennas, a quad-core processor at 1.5GHz, a 2.5Gbit/s WAN/port, a 1Gbit/s WAN/LAN port and three Gigabit LAN interfaces. In addition, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 are available. The GX90 offers similar specs, but it’s gaming oriented: a feature called Game Accelerator ensures that games are prioritized in terms of bandwidth and users can see stats of game connectivity. The Archer AX90 will cost $300 upon its release in April, while the GX90 will be released at the end of the second quarter for a slightly higher price of $330.
