AMD introduces Radeon RX 5600 XT based on Navi 10
AMD has announced the Radeon RX 5600 XT, which should fill the gap between the 5500 XT and 5700. The card based on Navi 10 has to compete with the GeForce GTX 1660 Super from Nvidia, among other things.
The RX 5600 XT is built around a 7nm Navi 10 GPU based on the RDNA architecture, just like the RX 5700. The clock speed has been reduced compared to that card and there is a 192bit interface instead of 256bit interface. memory bus present. The 5600 XT is also equipped with 6GB instead of 8GB gddr6. As a result, the total board power is also lower: 150W for the 5600 XT versus 185W for the 5700.
AMD mainly targets gamers who play at 1080p, where the 5700 would be especially suitable for 1440p resolutions. As for the competition, AMD claims with its own benchmarks that the 5600 XT, depending on the game, is 5 to 33 percent faster than the GTX 1060 6GB and 5 to 15 percent faster than the GeForce GTX 1660 Super. Whether the actual speeds turn out this way will have to be determined by independent benchmarks.
The suggested retail price of the card is $279. That was also the suggested retail price that Nvidia asked for a year ago when it announced the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti, but in October the GTX 1660 Super appeared for a starting price of $229.
