Modder makes Vice City playable as DLC in GTA V
For many players, Vice City is the GTA game they have the warmest memories of. But as fun as the game is, it is a bit dated. However, with a new mod it is now possible to play Vice City in GTA V.
Those who would like to cruise with Queen’s One Vision on the radio along the boulevard of virtual Miami can now do so in Vice Cry Remastered. That mod lets gamers play Vice City inside GTA V, as if it were a DLC pack. The mod has been in development for four years, but has now finally been released as a 1.0 version. Vice Cry Remastered was created by a modder called lunchxbles. In the game, players can not only drive, but also fly helicopters and enter certain buildings. The game has 3D neon models, reflective windows in cars and on buildings, working traffic lights and water reflections, according to the makers.
A warning though, because it’s not about the full game. It’s only about the map and the cars, but the missions of the game are not playable. The trailer is therefore not entirely fair; although you’ll see recognizable characters like Lance Vance and the mob boss Diaz, you can’t drive the white Infernus or take over the big island villa. And you can fly over the city in a seaplane, but if you want to drop thousands of porn advertising brochures for the film studio, you really have to start the old game again. According to the makers, there are ‘custom scenarios’ in it, but what that means in practice is not entirely clear.
