One of the developers of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has said that the game market is afraid of poorly finished projects. He made that statement in response to the news that the release of The Witcher 3 has been postponed for the second time.

The decision to postpone, according to CD Projekt, would have gone down well with fans of The Witcher, Eurogamer writes. One of the developers has said that the market is afraid of poorly finished games on the latest platforms. Assassin’s Creed Unity is mentioned as an example. The game was recently released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, but Ubisoft is still working on fixing some major bugs.

CD Projekt decided a few days ago to postpone the release of The Witcher 3 for the second time. There are still several details to correct and the studio wants to reduce the amount of bugs to as few as possible. In the statement, the developer admitted to setting the first two release dates too quickly. The developer of CD Projekt says the game has grown larger than anticipated in terms of size. The Witcher 3 would be more extensive than both predecessors combined.

The Witcher 3 was originally scheduled for fall 2014, but that later changed in February 2015. However, CD Projekt has indicated that it will need an additional 12 weeks and the latest release date is May 19, 2015.
