OnePlus denies delivering repaired devices as new

OnePlus states that it only sells new models of its One smartphone, and therefore not devices that have already been repaired. With this, the company is responding to noises that it secretly delivers repaired models as new to customers.

On its forum, the Chinese manufacturer states that it is aware of the rumors about the delivery of repaired, and therefore second-hand, smartphones to customers who have ordered a new one. From messages that have appeared on the internet, OnePlus has been able to find out a total of seven cases where there appeared to be a delivery of a refurbished One.

These cases have been investigated and the manufacturer has explained on the forum what they believe was going on. For example, there would be errors with the delivery service, when installing the software and a number of misunderstandings, but in none of the cases a repaired smartphone was delivered, the Chinese manufacturer states.

OnePlus states that the reported cases of delivery of a possibly repaired One are related to poor quality control. The factory where the One is produced is said to have been urged to pay more attention to this.
