Communication app Zoom is getting a number of new features, including Snapchat-like filters. The built-in noise cancellation is also improved. New ‘reactions’ are also added to the service. The features appear in version 5.2.

Zoom will announce the new features on its website. For example, the video communication service will receive filters reminiscent of Snapchat lenses. For example, users can apply a pirate filter with an eye patch to their face. Color filters will also be available in Zoom. This allows users to color their video stream black and white, for example. Background noise suppression is also improved. Users can now choose from multiple levels of noise cancellation, where the options were previously more limited.

Users can now also adjust the intensity of the built-in beauty filter. This feature, referred to by Zoom as’touch up my appearance‘, is used to smooth users’ skin. Users can also adjust the low light compensation.

In addition, Zoom’s ‘comments’ feature gets some new emojis. These emojis can be used to respond during a video call. These emojis are then shown in the top left of a video feed. Users can now also display their webcam feed as an overlay on a presentation.
