Dropbox has released a web version and an iPad version of Carousel, the standalone photo management tool that works in tandem with the file storage service. Earlier there was already a version that is intended for smartphones.

The application for the iPad has been made available for free in the App Store. Carousel can be used via the web via the url carousel.com. There you need to connect to an existing Dropbox account, which will automatically create a gallery of the photos stored within that account. Shared photos can also be discussed with friends via Carousel.

In April, Dropbox introduced its standalone photo service. For the time being, this was only made suitable for smartphones. A Dropbox CEO told The Verge that his company is not satisfied with the number of users of Carousel. Expanding the service to more devices should probably change that. In the long run, there should also be a version that is suitable for Android tablets.
