Microsoft Urges Developers to Migrate UWP Apps to Windows App SDK

Microsoft is urging UWP developers to migrate their apps to the new Windows App SDK platform. This is evident from a support page in which the manufacturer highlights the new features of the Windows App SDK and explains the migration process.

On the webpage, Microsoft explains how Universal Windows Platform apps can be converted to the Windows App SDK platform and the benefits associated with it. According to the company, apps that work with the Windows App SDK have, among other things, the latest user interface platform, are backwards compatible up to Windows 10 version 1809 and support the .NET 5 framework.

Programs that use the Windows App SDK provide a “more consistent experience” across versions of Windows and an improved runtime environment, according to Microsoft. According to developer Rafael Rivera The UWP SDK will only receive bug fixes and security updates in the future, although this has not yet been confirmed by Microsoft.
