Samsung shows Galaxy A03 smartphone from the cheapest class
Samsung has released its budget device, the Galaxy A03. The device is related to the A03s, A02S and A02. Those are Samsung’s cheapest devices. They differ among themselves in terms of the soc, among other things.
According to the announcement, the A03 will receive an unnamed octacore processor at 1.6GHz, paired with 3 or 4GB of RAM and 32, 64 or 128GB of storage space. The 60Hz display has a diagonal of 6.5 inches and an HD+ resolution, or 900 by 1600 pixels. The whole is powered by a 5000mAh battery. The rear camera setup consists of a 48-megapixel camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The front camera has 5 megapixels. Prices of the A03 will not be disclosed.
Samsung does not state whether the device will also come to Europe. In any case, its direct predecessor, the A02, did not. The A02S can be found in the Pricewatch, as well as the new A03s. It costs 150 to 175 euros.
The A03s has switched to a MediaTek soc instead of a Snapdragon in this new generation and it has got a fingerprint scanner, in the power button. It is unclear whether the A03 will receive it. Furthermore, the resolution of the A03s is lower than that of the A03: 720×1600 pixels. There is also an A03 Core, but it doesn’t seem to be available yet.
