The gaming phones were unveiled in August and are minor upgrades to the ROG Phone 5 models. For example, the new smartphones have Qualcomms Snapdragon 888 Plus-soc, where the regular 5 series has to do with the normal 888-soc. In addition, the smartphones register the touch input 360 times per second, compared to 300 times for the ROG Phone 5.

Furthermore, all smartphones have a 6.78″ OLED screen with a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz and a resolution of 2448×1080 pixels. The smartphones also contain a 6000mAh battery that can be charged with 65W wired. At the back is Sony’s 64-megapixel sensor IMX686, In addition, there is a 13-megapixel sensor with a wide-angle lens, the selfie camera has a 24-megapixel sensor, and all phones have ultrasonic shoulder buttons.

The Pro variant has, in addition to the extra memory, a slightly faster version of the 888 Plus soc. With the regular 5s, the Cortex X1 core has a maximum clock speed of 2.84GHz, with the 5s Pro this is 3GHz. Also, the part of the soc that performs the machine learning tasks has a little more computing power in the Pro version. Finally, this smartphone has a color screen on the back for ASUS animations and an included AeroActive Cooler 5 that can provide additional cooling.
