WinFuture: Samsung has started production of Galaxy S22 smartphones
Samsung has started production of Galaxy S22 phones, the usually well-informed WinFuture reports. The manufacturer would produce components for three different S22 variants. The smartphones are expected early next year.
According to WinFuture, Samsung has started producing an SM-S901, SM-S906, and SM-S908. Those devices are expected to be introduced as the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra, respectively. According to WinFuture, the company will initially start producing a limited number of components, such as cables that connect different circuit boards of the smartphones.
Samsung initially focuses on the model for the United States in the production of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, WinFuture claims based on its sources. Components for the worldwide versions of the S22 and S22+ are already being produced.
According to previous reports, the Galaxy S22 series will appear in early 2022, possibly at the end of January. At the same time, there are rumors that the company will release a Galaxy S21 FE device in January, and postpone the S22 phones, for example until the MWC fair in February. Samsung usually starts producing smartphones two to three months before release, WinFuture reports.
Renders of the various S22 phones have already appeared before. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is expected to have a 6.8″ AMOLED screen and a P-shaped camera island. The Galaxy S22 and S22+ will have smaller screens and more closely resemble their respective predecessors from the Galaxy S21 series. Those two smartphones would also smaller batteries than the previous S21 devices.
