Download mtPaint 3.40
After a long time, a new version of mtPaint has appeared again. With this program developed by Mark Tyler, raster images such as digital photos can be created and edited. It was developed with the gtk+ toolkit and there are also downloads for Windows and Linux. It is extremely light and therefore runs on a PC equipped with 16MB memory and a 200MHz processor. In version 3.40 the following changes and improvements have been made:

- Usage of multiple CPU cores to speed up slower processing tasks
- Two new tools – for image segmentation, and for approximating gradients using palette colours
- Dynamic preview in color selectors
- sRGB (linear RGB) color scales and gradients

- Autoscrolling in canvas, view and palette windows
- Auto resizing toolbars
- Support for PBM/PGM/PPM/PAM, PCX and SVG image formats
- Support for ICC color profiles in images
- Loading of animated GIFs and multipage TIFFs into layers
- Palette extraction from image files
- Format conversions in file actions
- “Snap to grid” mode
- New keyboard shortcuts
