Download WinRAR 4.10 Beta 4
RAR Labs has released the fourth beta release of version 4.10 of its RAR and WinRAR archiving tools. The popular compression tool is available for a variety of operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. The program handles most common formats – including rar, zip, cab, arj, lzh, tar, gz, ace, uue, bz2, jar , iso, 7z and z – has a skinnable interface, and has support for Zip64 and multivolume cab files. New in version 4.10 is, among other things, that there is no longer a limit on the size of a zip archive and there is now the possibility to create a multi-volume zip archive. In beta 4, the program has become better at recognizing Unicode file names and three bug fixes have been made.
Changes:
- Improved detection of UTF-8 encoding in file names in ZIP archives. WinRAR attempts to recognize Unicode names, even when UTF-8 flag is not present in ZIP archive headers.
Bug fixed:
- If switch -t was set in RAR environment variable, WinRAR “View” command failed to open archived files;
- “”Autodetect” string” option in “Define volume sizes” dialog did not work;
- If “Split to volumes, size” in default compression profile was set to “Autodetect”, “Delete” and “Add comment” commands refused to modify ZIP archives.
