Apple has released an update for the fourth generation of the operating system for the iPhone and iPod touch. Updating the software is easy; all that needs to be done is pair the iPhone with a Windows or Mac OS X computer that has version 9.2 of iTunes installed. Version 4.0.1 includes several unnamed bug fixes and improvements, and also has a new way of calculating signal strength and displaying it graphically on the display. However, the signal loss due to the so-called ‘death grip’ has not been solved.
