Download WinSCP 4.2.8

A new stable version of WinSCP was released on Wednesday. Released under an open source license, this program allows files to be securely copied between two computers. The program supports ftp, secure ftp and the older secure copy (scp-) protocol. WinSCP is not only available as a standalone program, but is also available as plugin available for the file management programs FAR and Altap Salamander. The changelog of this release shows the following changes:

• File size masks are allowed in script commands. 555
• Conversion of timestamps between local and remote systems with respect to DST follows changes introduced in Windows 7. 564
• Installation package includes development versions of PuTTYgen and Pageant applications. It brings the following changes:
  • PuTTYgen supports importing of new-style OpenSSH private keys (encrypted by AES rather than 3DES).
• SSH core upgraded to the latest development snapshot of PuTTY (2010-05-19, revision 8952). Improving GSSAPI support.
