Download Skype for Mac 5.4 Build 1771 Beta
Skype has released a new beta release of version 5.4 of its voip client for Mac OS X. About a year ago, Skype started putting a little more effort into developing the Mac OS X client, which until then was quite behind the Windows version. Video conferencing with up to ten people is now possible and text messages can be sent to contacts who are not online. In version 5.4, integration with Facebook has been added and Skype Home is also introduced. This beta also includes the option to set up video calls with Facebook users.

Fixed Issues:
- General: Skypenames ending with period do not work properly
- General: Spanish version of Skype client does not launch
Known Issues:
- Call: In Leopard can not press number keys on keyboard to generate touch tones
Workaround: Use buttons in dial pad (CMD + 2) - Video: Switching from video to screen sharing during group video call may not work
Workaround: Stop video and then start screen sharing
