Google allows Donald Trump’s social network app in Play Store
Google has allowed Truth Social in the Google Play Store. According to Google, Donald Trump’s platform has taken the necessary content moderation measures so that the app no longer violates the rules of Google Play.
Truth Social was banned from its app store by Google in August because the app violated Google’s policy on apps in the Play Store. Google then expressed concerns about content such as physical threats and calls to violence and noted that Truth Social did not have an active moderation system. According to Google, such a system was necessary to access Google Play. Meanwhile, Truth Social according to Axios have solved the problems that caused Google to now allow the app in its app store.
The social medium was founded in 2022 at the initiative of former US President Donald Trump. It was removed from various social media in January 2021 after the then storming of the US Capitol by Trump supporters. Truth Social has been available on iOS since February of this year.
