Wine is an open source implementation of the Windows API. This makes it possible to run DOS and Windows programs on Linux, FreeBSD and Mac OS X, among others. A new development build is released every Friday every other week. Wine is contributed by a large group of developers, which is why it was decided to release a new build every two weeks, instead of waiting for a number of new features to be ready. Once in a while, however, a stable release becomes available and the sixth release candidate was released on Friday. As in the previous few releases, this release only contains updated translations and a bunch of bug fixes.
