Download SugarSync 2.0.24

An update for SugarSync version 2.0 has been released. This online storage and synchronization service is comparable to services such as Dropbox, Google Drive, SkyDrive and iCloud. The program can be used to backup or easily access files from different places. A free account gives access to 5GB of storage, with options to expand it. For a small compensation this can be 60GB, 100GB or even 250GB. More information about the possibilities of SugarSync is here can be found and compared with other services here.

Clients exist for various mobile platforms, Windows and OS X, but not yet for Linux. In addition, there is a Outlook plugin. In version 2.0, it has become easier to store and share folders in the cloud. Furthermore, a search function has been added and the saved files now appear as a drive in Apple’s Finder or Windows Explorer. Finally, the user interface and web app have also been overhauled and given a new look. Among other things, this update makes folder sharing look the same in the desktop app as it does on the web, and deleted files can now be retrieved from the desktop app as well.

• A visual update of the Share dialog box. This updated design brings the desktop app in line with the Share dialog box in the Web app.
• The ability to restore deleted files from the desktop application. Until now, you had to use the Web app to restore deleted files. In addition, we’ve redesigned the Deleted Items window and modified the workflow to restore deleted items. Read this Knowledge Base article for more details.
• Restoration of the shortcut for re-syncing a folder. You can once again easily re-sync an item by pressing CTRL-SHIFT-S.
• We’ve also effected a range of bug fixes that generally make the system more stable and consistent.

SugarSync 2.0 Web App

• The remote wipe capability is now available to individual paid subscribers, as well as business account users.
• A range of bug fixes, which addressed some minor display issues and enhanced some back-end processes involving content sharing.
