Netatmo gives Smart Video Doorbell support for Google Assistant and Alexa
The French manufacturer Netatmo has given its Smart Video Doorbell support for Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. The doorbell with camera already had support for Apple’s voice assistant Siri.
Netatmo will implement an automatic update of the app in the coming days, after which users of all video doorbells that the company released can use the added voice assistants for operation. The French manufacturer describes that users of an Amazon Echo Spot or Echo Show, thanks to the voice command ‘Alexa, show me the Doorbell’, can see who is at the door and can have a conversation via ‘Alexa, answer the Doorbell’. As soon as someone rings the bell, they will receive a notification from Alexa.
The Smart Doorbell can also be connected to the Google Assistant after the update. For example, owners of a Google Nest Hub, Nest Mini or other smart speaker can receive a notification with the assistant when someone is at the front door and they can also receive live video streams from the product via the command ‘Hey Google, show me the Doorbell’.
Since its market launch last year, the Smart Video Doorbell already has compatibility with Apple’s HomeKit.
