Rumor: Xiaomi Redmi K30 will get 120Hz screen and fingerprint scanner on the side
Xiaomi is said to have equipped its Redmi K30 smartphone with a fingerprint scanner on the side, a 120Hz screen and a 60-megapixel camera. That’s what XDA Developers claims. The current Redmi K20 is in stores in the Benelux as Mi 9T.
XDA-Developers found indications in the Miui 11 that a device codenamed Phoenix will have a 120Hz screen. Such screens are still scarce on smartphones. The Asus ROG Phone II and Razer Phone models have that, and Samsung is rumored to put it on the Galaxy S11.
The phone codenamed Phoenix also gets a fingerprint scanner on the right side instead of behind the screen as with the Mi 9T phones. The camera sensors are a Sony IMX686 with a resolution of sixty megapixels, a Samsung sensor of twenty megapixels that is used in other phones as a front camera, and twice a GC02M1 from Galaxycore, presumably a depth sensor on the front and back. It is unknown if the phone has more cameras.
XDA-Developers thinks the Phoenix is the Redmi K30 because a teaser for the K30 shows a phone with a dual camera hole in the top right corner of the screen. The Phoenix has that too, according to information from Miui 11.
Xiaomi released the Redmi K20 and Mi 9T this summer. The manufacturer would like to present the K30 next month, but it is unknown if and when the device will come to Europe.
