Universal and EA working on Army of Two movie
Film studio Universal Pictures and publisher Electronic Arts are preparing the production of a film that will be based on the action game Army of Two. Production, in which EA itself is closely involved, should start in early 2009.
Screenwriter Scott Z. Burns has been appointed to write the script, Zo made Electronic Arts announced on Friday. Burns previously co-wrote the script for The Bourne Ultimatum and directed an episode in the first season of the television series Californication. Producer Scott Stuber does the production with his company Stuber Productions, together with EA.
Army of Two is about two freelance soldiers who act as private soldiers in war zones. The main focus of the game is the cooperation between the two soldiers. For example, the two main characters can hang with their backs to each other, in order to fight enemies from all directions.
Army of Two isn’t the only movie EA is involved in. The publisher is also working with 20th Century Fox on a movie of The Sims.
