Microsoft Introduces New Surface Devices September 22
Microsoft is holding a Surface event on September 22. During this online presentation, the company will talk about “Windows 11 and Surface devices.” According to previous rumors, the company is coming with a Surface Duo 2 smartphone and a new Surface Pro.
Microsoft will broadcast the presentation on Wednesday, September 22. The company shows an image of a new Surface device with a magnetic keyboard, although no details are known about it yet.
Rumors about new Surface devices from Microsoft have been circulating for some time. Recently, photos and details appeared about a Surface Duo 2 smartphone, which would have, among other things, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888-soc and larger screens than its predecessor. That device would also have multiple cameras, where its predecessor had a single camera. Microsoft is expected to announce that smartphone on September 22.
Windows Central writes that Microsoft may also show a Surface Pro 8 and Surface Go 3. The latter previously appeared in Geekbench, which revealed that the device will probably come with an Intel Pentium Gold 6500Y or Intel Core i3-10100Y CPU. The alleged Surface Pro 8 is expected to get an Intel Tiger Lake processor, display with a higher refresh rate and an updated design, according to the tech website.
The Surface event takes place just under two weeks before the release of Windows 11. That OS will be released on October 5, although its rollout could last until mid-2022. The new Surface devices are expected to run on Windows 11, with the exception of the Surface Duo 2 smartphone; which is expected to ship with Android 11.
