Nokia wants to give drivers routes adapted to driving style

In the future, Nokia wants to adjust routes and navigation options in real time to the driving style of the user. That’s what the Finnish company says. To do that, it takes over a small American company that would have technology for that.

It is still unclear exactly what the service will look like, but Nokia probably wants that if there are several routes that take the same time, the software automatically checks whether the user has a preference for driving on busy highways or in built-up areas.

Nokia calls this ‘contextual maps and services’, according to the message about the acquisition of the Seattle company Medio, which employs 70 people and was founded in 2004. After the acquisition of the telephone branch by Microsoft, Nokia is trying to specialize in various elements, including navigation and location services under the name Here.
