THQ Nordic Is Working On Full Remake Of RPG Classic Gothic
Publisher THQ Nordic is going to make a full remake of Gothic, a game from the German Piranha Bytes from 2001. At the end of last year, THQ Nordic already released a playable teaser, to see if there is enthusiasm for a new game.
The playable teaser that THQ Nordic released last December has been played by more than 180,000 people, according to the publisher. The publisher also put a poll online asking if people are interested in a remake of Gothic. It turned out that 94.8 percent of the participants would like such a remake. THQ Nordic now confirms that a full remake is coming.
A new studio to be set up in Barcelona will make the remake. It is not yet known when the new game will be released. The original RPG was released in 2001 and received good reviews; on Metacritic, the game has a score of 81 points and players give the game an average score of 8.7. THQ Nordic took over the German studio that created the original game last year.
