Spotify provides iOS app with a changed interface
Spotify has changed the design of its iOS app. Among other things, the shuffleplay button has been simplified and no longer provided with text. From now on, the app also shows the album art of music tracks in almost all views.
Instead of a wide central button with the text ‘Shuffle play’, the iOS now shows a round green button with a shuffle icon on the right of the interface. The change has been made for both Free and Premium users.
For Premium subscribers only, the change is that the icons for all actions, such as ‘like’ and ‘download’, are now centrally located next to each other in the interface. The icon for downloading to listen without a Wi-Fi connection is the same as for podcasts.
Furthermore, Spotify on iOS shows cover art of tracks on all views, except for the ‘Album’ view. According to the company, this should make navigating and finding trusted numbers easier. Spotify will start releasing the new interface on Thursday, February 27.
