MSI presents curved 30″ gaming monitor with 200Hz VA panel

MSI announces the Optix MAG301CR, a 30″ monitor with a resolution of 2560×1080 pixels and a refresh rate of 200Hz. The VA panel has a claimed response time of 1ms and FreeSync support.

According to MSI, the Optix MAG301CR has a wide color gamut panel, which can display 98 percent of the dci-p3 color space. The contrast ratio is 3000:1; the manufacturer does not mention a maximum brightness. MSI does give the monitor the HDR Ready predicate, but that only means that the screen can handle HDR material.

The screen stands on a height-adjustable foot and can also be tilted. At the back is a ring with RGB LEDs. The monitor has a displayport 1.2 connection and two HDMI 2.0 ports. There is also a USB-C connection with displayport alt mode on the screen. The monitor also has an audio output and three USB 3.0 connections. When the Optix MAG301CR comes on the market and what the screen will cost, has not yet been announced.
