Cat S32 smartphone is drop-resistant up to 1.8 meters and costs 299 euros

Cat Phones introduced the S32 at CES. This smartphone is fall-resistant to at least a height of 1.8 meters and will cost 299 euros. Last year, the manufacturer also released the more expensive S52 phone, which has better specifications.

According to Cat Phones, the Cat S32 is a sturdy smartphone that is dust and waterproof with an IP68 certification, which has been tested with a fall from 1.8 meters on a steel surface. The phone has also been tested underwater at 1.5 meters, for a duration of 35 minutes.

The 5.5″ screen, which has an aspect ratio of 18:9 and presumably a resolution of 1440×720 pixels or lower, is protected against scratches by DragonTrail Pro Glass, according to the manufacturer. The touchscreen can also be used with wet fingers or gloves.

The Cat S32 includes a Mediatek Helio A20 MT6761D soc, which features four ARM Cortex-A53 cores running at up to 1.8GHz. The phone has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage that can be expanded with a micro-SD memory card. The battery has a capacity of 4,200mAh.

The operating system of the phone is Android 10, but an upgrade to version 11 will also be available according to the manufacturer. In terms of cameras, there is a 13-megapixel unit on the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. The S32 costs 299 euros and will be available from the second quarter of this year.
