Frogwares will release new Sherlock Holmes game next year

Frogwares has announced Sherlock Holmes Chapter One. The game is a prequel set to the events of the previous Sherlock Holmes games created by the developer. The new game will be released for consoles and PC.

Sherlock Holmes is 21 years old in the new game Chapter One. According to the makers, players will have to deal with a version of the detective that was not discussed in the original books. Frogwares describes the young Sherlock as ‘more raw talent than refined genius, reckless, impatient, a tad brash, but unconsciously already on his way to greatness’.

The game is described as a story-driven detective thriller set on a Mediterranean island, where Sherlock Holmes investigates the mysterious death of his mother. Frogwares is developing the game and will also publish it itself. The studio previously made games in the Sherlock Holmes series; the first appeared in 2002 and the last in 2016.

It is not yet known when Sherlock Holmes Chapter One will be released. For now, Frogwares says the game will be released in 2021. The game will be released on Steam, on the Epic Games Store and on GOG. There will also be versions for the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and the next-gen consoles.
