Download Caliber 1.6

Last week there was no new release for the first time in a long time due to the absence of developer Kovid Goyal, but this Friday it just hit again. Caliber is an open source and cross platform ebook management program. Among other things, it can look up all relevant information and cover images and convert ebooks to make them suitable for the various types of e-readers. It can also convert newspapers, magazines and news articles based on RSS feeds into e-book format, and books can be purchased from well-known web stores. In version 1.6, the following changes and improvements have been made:

New Features

• Temporary marking of books in the library
  This allows you to select books from your caliber library manually and mark them. This ‘mark’ will remain until you restart caliber, or clear the marks. You can easily work with only the marked subset of books by right clicking the Mark Books button. To use this feature, go to Preferences->Toolbars and add the ‘Mark Books’ tool to the main toolbar.

• DOCX Input: Handle hyperlinks in footnotes and endnotes. Close tickets: 1232790

• Allow using both uri: and url: identifiers to create two different arbitrary links instead of just one in the Book details panel.

• Conversion: Add an option to not condense CSS rules for margin, padding, border, etc. Option is under the Look & Feel section of the conversion dialog. Close tickets: 1233220

• ebook-meta: Add an –identifier option to set identifiers.
