Battlefield V Trailer Shows Upcoming Battle Between US And Japan In The Pacific
EA has released a trailer for the fifth chapter of Battlefield V, called War in the Pacific. The trailer shows the bitter, hard battle between the Americans and the Japanese, which takes place on land, in the sea and in the air. Iwo Jima and Wake Island, among others, return.
War in the Pacific will be released on October 31 as a free update to Battlefield V and will add the battle in the Pacific during World War II to the game. This means that two new factions will be introduced, the Americans and the Japanese, each with their own weapons. Among other things, the semi-automatic M1 Garand rifle of the Americans is present, which makes the characteristic ping sound when the eight cartridges have been fired. The trailer shows a Japanese soldier who is very adept with his katana; this sword will have to be found somewhere on the map, just like the portable American M2 flamethrower. As for the vehicles, the Sherman tank is making an appearance, as is the Corsair fighter.
The new chapter adds three new playing fields: the battle of Iwo Jima, a playing field called Pacific Storm and Wake Island. Rocky Iwo Jima is a battleground with wide beaches and narrow tunnels that, for example, was already in the original Battlefield 1942, just like Wake Island. Wake is an atoll island in the North Pacific Ocean that was occupied by Japan in 1941 and remained in Japanese hands until the end of the war, despite attempts by the Americans. However, the Wake Island map is the only one not immediately available when the update comes out; this playing field is scheduled for a December release. Pacific Storm is an archipelago where players must compete for control of multiple islands.
