Download Caliber 0.9.42

Caliber is an open source and cross platform ebook management program. Among other things, it can look up all relevant information and cover images and convert ebooks to make them suitable for the various types of e-readers. It can also convert newspapers, magazines and news articles based on RSS feeds into e-book format, and books can be purchased from well-known web stores. A new version is released every Friday and the following changes and improvements have been made in this release:

New Features

• When downloading metadata from Amazon, convert the amazon categories into tags. You can turn this off by going to Preferences->Metadata download and configuring the Amazon source. Close tickets: 1206763
• Kobo driver: Add an option to modify the styling in books being sent to the device, based on a template on the device. Close tickets: 1207151
• Get Books: Add support for two more Polish ebook stores: cdp.pl and ebooki.allegro.pl
• calibredb: Add a new clone command to create clones of libraries with the same custom columns, virtual libraries, etc. as the current library.

Bug Fixes

• MOBI metadata: Do not fail to set metadata in MOBI files if they have EXTH fields with NULL pointers to a cover or thumbnail. Close tickets: 1205757
• Fix editing of book metadata failing when its timestamp is out of range for the system. Close tickets: 1191599
• Fix renaming a user category to the same name it already has erases the user category. Close tickets: 1207131
• Fix drag ‘n drop or cover onto conversion dialog not working
• Device drivers: Explicitly fsync() all files when writing to devices, to reduce chances of file corruption if the device is disconnected while jobs are running
• Fix caliber not appearing in Ubuntu’s ‘Open with..’ menu. Close tickets: 1207518
