Download Total Commander 8.51 final

The final release of Total Commander version 8.51 has been released. This program can be used as a replacement for Windows Explorer. Splitting the folder view into two makes it easy to copy files, but the program can do much more. There are various ways to modify files, there is a built-in ftp client and a multirename tool, and there is support for a large number of compression formats. Furthermore, the functionality can be plugins be expanded. Version 8.51 is a so-called bugfix release and the changelog mainly shows bugfixes and minor changes.

This version mainly corrects errors, but there are also some new functions:

• File icons are now completely loaded in the background, so they should no longer slow down the user interface
• More speed improvements when reading directories (icons, shared folder overlays)
• FTP rename file (Shift+F6): Show overwrite confirmation dialog if target exists
• FTP: Faster upload in fast networks by using a dynamic upload block size
