Cerulean Studios has released the first update for version 5.0 of the instant messaging program Trillian Astra. Trillian Astra allows chatting with users of many instant messaging and social networks, including Windows Live, ICQ, Skype (text only), Twitter and Facebook. Trillian Astra is available for Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Android and BlackBerry. In addition, there is a version that runs in a web browser and can therefore be used anywhere.

Version 5 mainly improves social media capabilities and adds support for Foursquare. In addition, some features that previously belonged to the paid pro version are now also offered in the free version, including the ability to customize the appearance and to log in from different locations. A small contribution is still required to save chats in the cloud, so that, for example, a conversation started on a desktop or laptop can be continued on the road from the point where the conversation was interrupted, while retaining the history, and chat without ads. In build 33, four issues have been fixed.
