Spotify faces global outage – update –

Spotify users have to deal with a malfunction on Saturday that prevents them from logging in to the music streaming service. Spotify itself says it is aware of the problems, and that they are working on fixing them.

Worldwide reported people that they cannot listen to music via Spotify, including on Twitter. Although there are many reports, it is not clear how big the problems are. Spotify has to know given that it is aware and that it is investigating what exactly is going on. However, the music streaming service does not provide detailed information.

The software logs the user out and on retry attempts to log in says that the username or password is incorrect. Therefore, it is not possible to use the service. It is not yet clear what causes this. The outage started early Saturday morning.

Update, 10.02: Spotify has since solved the login problems, and it seems that most users can listen to music again as a result.
