Steiger Dynamics shows off its Leet Pro workstation at CES. According to the manufacturer, this workstation is intended for the living room and offers in its most extensive configuration a Xeon with twelve cores, two AMD FirePro cards, 4TB SSD storage and 24TB HDD storage.
The Leet Pro Living Room Workstation has an aluminum housing with a window at the top that allows a view of the interior. On the front is an LCD on which information about, among other things, the CPU and GPU temperature can be seen.
The motherboard is the Asus P9X79 and the manufacturer has chosen the Intel Xeon E5-2697 V2 as processor: a chip with twelve cores, 30MB cache and clock speed of 2.7GHz. In addition, there are two AMD FirePro W9100 cards in Crossfire lineup. Both CPU and video cards are liquid cooled with cooling from Ice Dragon, Swiftech and EKWB.
There is also 64GB of RAM and 4TB of SSD storage, provided by two Samsung 850 Pro SSDs. Four Western Digital 6TB HDDs supplement the SSD storage. The whole is powered with a 1200W power supply from Seasonic.
The starting price of the Leet Pro Living Room Workstation is $ 2049, but then it is a variant with a Core i5 and less memory. As for the configuration shown at CES, the manufacturer does not want to give a price yet. The systems are intended for the demanding user who wants to access large media libraries via TV or multi-monitor set-up in the living room.
