Lenovo introduces compact Chromebox

Lenovo has announced the ThinkCentre Chromebox for the business market. The compact PC runs on an unspecified Core CPU from Intel, along with 4GB of RAM and 16GB of internal flash storage.

The ThinkCentre Chromebox measures 17.8×3.5×18.3cm and weighs 1kg. In addition to an Intel CPU, 4GB of RAM and a 16GB SSD, the compact desktop also has a vesa mount, so that the Chromebox can be hung behind a monitor.

Like other Chromeboxes, the ThinkCentre Chromebox runs on Google’s Chrome OS. The system also contains four USB 3.0 connections, an HDMI output, a combined analog audio input/output, a displayport connection and an Ethernet port.

The ThinkCentre Chromebox will be launched in the US in June with a suggested retail price of $199, or $182. It is not yet clear whether the PC will also be launched in Europe.
