Huawei releases Mate 30 Pro smartphone without Google services in Switzerland
Huawei will release the Mate 30 Pro in Switzerland in two weeks. The phone does not have Google services on board. Switzerland is the second country in Europe, after Spain, where the phone will be available.
Huawei asks 1100 Swiss francs, converted about 1000 euros, for the version with 8GB memory and 128GB storage, WinFuture writes. The manufacturer has put a faq online for those interested. In it, Huawei promises to release security updates for the phone. Google apps and services are not on it. Instead, Huawei refers to its own download store App Gallery, which contains 45,000 apps.
The manufacturer cannot put Google services on its high-end phone, because American companies such as Google are not allowed to trade with Huawei. The US government has banned companies in the US. If new phones from the manufacturer with Google services come out, it is because the Chinese manufacturer uses a trick. In addition, it releases a variant of an older phone under the name of a new model. For example, Google does not have to approve the phone for the use of Google services and that phone does not fall under the trade ban. That is not possible with the Mate 30 Pro, because it is a completely new model.
The manufacturer recently announced that it would release the Mate 30 Pro in Spain. As it turns out, this is not the only European country where the phone will be available. Huawei said in its September announcement that it plans to release the Mate 30 Pro in Europe this year. Whether and when the phone will appear in the Benelux is unknown.
