Rumor: Samsung gives all Galaxy S25 models Qualcomm socks
Samsung would equip all its Galaxy S25 models with Qualcomm Socs, claims TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The usually well-established analyst claims that the yields on Samsung's 3nm process are too low.
Due to the low yields of the suspected Exynos 2500 SoC, Samsung has decided to equip all Galaxy S25 models with Qualcomm SoCs. reports Kuo. This has happened before: Samsung also equipped all S23 variants with Qualcomm processors, after which it switched back to its own SoCs for various variants for the S24 in many of the countries where those phones were released.
In addition, Kuo previously reported that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which will likely be used in the S25 series, will be 25 to 30 percent more expensive than the current generation. This could lead to higher suggested retail prices for smartphones. The SoC would therefore be approximately 50 euros more expensive than the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Samsung has not yet responded to the rumor.
