Biostar equips iMiner system with eight AMD RX 580 GPUs

Biostar has added a new system to its iMiner lineup, incorporating eight Radeon RX 580 GPUs into the chassis. The manufacturer claims to be able to supply large quantities of the Biostar iMiner A588x8D2.

Biostar cites a hashrate of 232MH/s for mining Ethereum when announcing the iMiner A588x8D2. The company emphasizes that the system can also be used for mining other cryptocurrencies and that it is a plug-and-play system. Furthermore, Biostar promises that the system will be available ‘in large quantities’ to customers who are interested.

That is striking, since the company is installing eight AMD Radeon RX 580 GPUs and the availability of video cards is still not optimal. According to Tom’s Hardware, it appears that Biostar uses consumer cards for the iMiner system and the cards used bear a resemblance to the Biostar Gaming VA5805RV82.

The manufacturer has not yet published the details of the iMiner A588x8D2 on its site at the time of writing. There are the iMiner A578X6 with six RX 570 GPUs and the A564X12P with twelve RX 560 GPUs.
