AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS CPU and Radeon RX 6800S GPU Appear in PugetBench Database
Benchmark results have been released for a laptop with an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS CPU and Radeon RX 6800S GPU. Those are two ‘S’ chips that are focused on efficiency. The Ryzen 6000 laptop series is due out this month, but no official release date has been announced yet.
The laptop’s benchmark results appeared in the Puget Systems database and were noted by Twitter user Benchleaks† It is an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14, which is not officially available yet. The laptop was tested in the PugetBench Photoshop and Premiere Pro tests. The laptop achieves scores of 1022 and 550, respectively.
Recently, the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HS already appeared in the Geekbench database, Wccftech noted. Those results show that the processor achieves scores that are comparable to those of the Ryzen 9 6900HX, although the HS variant has a lower TDP. The Ryzen 9 6900HS hits single and multicore scores of 1571 and 9751 in Geekbench. With the HX variant, those scores are 1616 and 10,151, Wccftech writes.
AMD announced its Ryzen 6000 laptop processors at CES. The Ryzen 9 6900HS has eight cores and sixteen threads with a TDP of 35W. That is lower than the non-S models, which have a 45W TDP. The chips are based on the Zen 3+ architecture, have an integrated RDNA 2 GPU and are produced on TSMC’s 6nm process. The processors will appear in February, but AMD has not yet announced a concrete release date.
The individual Radeon RX 6000S laptop GPUs are also based on the RDNA 2 architecture and are also focused on efficiency. The Radeon RX 6800S, for example, has 40 compute units with a tgp of 100W, which is lower than, for example, the RX 6800M with ‘145W+’. Laptops with these video cards should appear in the first quarter, AMD previously reported.
