Number of monthly active Twitter users rises to 217 million

Twitter has gained 13 percent monthly active users in the past year. As a result, the social platform now has 217 million monthly active users. A quarter earlier, the platform had 211 million users.

It platform thinks having gained additional users through “product enhancements” and “global conversations on the platform about current events.” The growth was mainly due to the addition of more international users; in the United States, two percent of additional users were added. Twitter plans to have 315 million monthly active users by the end of 2023. With the current figures, the company sees no reason to adjust this plan.

Twitter had revenue of $5.08 billion in fiscal 2021, 37 percent more than in 2020. The net loss was $221 million. In the last quarter of 2021, the company still made a net profit of 222 million dollars. By 2023, the company aims to have a turnover of 7.5 billion dollars.
