Publisher Nacon acquires Edge of Eternity creator Midgar Studio
French game company Nacon acquires Midgar Studio. Nacon announces that Midgar Studio will continue to develop games under its wing. The French studio is mainly known for the jrpg Edge of Eternity.
Nacon announces the acquisition in a press release. The company did not disclose how much it had to pay for Midgar Studio. The acquisition of Midgar Studio brings the number of Nacon studios to fifteen. The vast majority of these are based in France, including the maker of Edge of Eternity.
Midgar Studio released Edge of Eternity for PC last year. The console version of the game should be released early this year. Nacon’s director, Alain Falc, is pleased with the acquisition of Midgar Studio: “Midgar Studio makes high-quality games in a segment that we are not yet specialized in,” said Falc.
Nacon now has a wide portfolio of games under his care. The publisher is responsible for, among other things, Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong and Bloodbowl 3. Although the company had to postpone these games in November. In addition to publishing games, Nacon is also involved in releasing hardware.
