The Galaxy S22 is smaller than its predecessor, start of a trend?
The Galaxy S22 series that Samsung presented on Wednesday broke a pattern that has been going on for years. The S22 is the first Galaxy S in years with a shorter screen and a smaller housing. Samsung isn’t alone in making its new phones smaller.
The basic version of the S22 has a 6.1″ screen with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. This differs from the S21, which has a 6.2″ screen with an aspect ratio of 20:9. The screen of the S22 is exactly the same width, but a bit shorter. The same goes for the S22+. To compare how that compares to previous models from the past, we have made an overview.
