TP-Link Releases Wi-Fi 6E Router With Auto-Rotating Antennas This Year
TP-Link will start selling the AX200 router later this year. This Wi-Fi 6E router has four antennas that can move independently to automatically provide devices with better range. This way, users do not have to adjust the antennas themselves to optimize the range.
The Archer AX200 Omni has four antennas that are normally folded on top of the router. However, these can move out on their own, tilt on their axis and point up or down. For example, according to TP-Link, the router must be able to provide specific devices with better range. The router determines which antennas to move based on a device’s Wi-Fi usage and its location. Users can also control the router with an app, TP-Link says.
The company announced the router last November, but now says it plans to actually start selling the device. Where and when are still unknown, as is the price. The company does say that the router will have a 10-gigabit port, a 2.5-gigabit port and four gigabit ports. With the 6GHz and 5GHz frequencies, speeds of up to 4.8Gbit/s are possible, with the 2.4GHz frequency a speed of 1.1Gbit/s should be possible. The router also gets a 2.0GHz quad-core.
TP-Link is also announcing additional Wi-Fi 6E routers, such as the Archer AXE300 which will get two 10-gigabit ports. It also offers an additional 6GHz band, which users can use for specific devices. In addition, there is the Deco XE200 mesh router, which supports speeds of up to 4.8 Gbit/s, can connect up to 200 devices and can provide Wi-Fi in an area of more than 600 square meters. Finally, there will be a Wi-Fi 6E range extender and PCIe card and a Deco X50 Outdoor that should be able to provide the garden with WiFi range, for example.
