Xiaomi announces list of phones that will be upgraded to Android 12
Xiaomi has published a list of its phones that will be upgraded to Android 12 before the end of March next year. Other phones, including last year’s Mi 10 and Mi 10T phones, are expected to get the upgrade later.
There are a total of twenty phones on the list from various price ranges, according to Xiaomi’s post. The upgrade to Android 12 goes together with Miui 13, the new version of the skin that Xiaomi places on its own devices. Xiaomi notes that it will announce more details about which phones will receive the upgrade at a later date.
The list now only includes Xiaomi 11 and Mi11 phones, in addition to Redmi 10 models and the Xiaomi Pad 5 tablet. In all cases, this concerns products that were released this year. High-end models from last year will not receive the upgrade in the coming months either.
The OS upgrades are separate from the security updates, which Xiaomi guarantees for at least two years. Updates are released every quarter, the manufacturer previously reported. Xiaomi makes no promises about OS upgrades for previous models from last year and before that. The newer 11T phones will get three OS upgrades, Xiaomi promised.
