ASUS Republic of Gamers introduces the Zephyrus Duo 16 dual screen gaming laptop. There will be a variant with a screen that can switch between 4k+ display with 120Hz and fhd+ display with 240Hz. There is also an option for a 1600p mini LED panel with 512 zones.

The ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 is the successor to the Zephyrus Duo 15 and as the name implies, the new model has a larger screen. Like its predecessor, the Zephyrus Duo has a second screen with an ultra-wide aspect ratio on the case. There will be variants with 3840×1100 pixels and with 1920×550 pixels. That screen is above the keyboard and can be folded up slightly. The second screen can also be pushed back slightly. According to ASUS, it therefore fits better with the primary screen when used.

ASUS gives the Zephyrus Duo 16 new 16″ panels for the primary screen with an aspect ratio of 16:10. There is a ROG Nebuala display with a so-called dual spec panel. That panel has a resolution of 3840×2400 pixels and achieves a refresh rate of 120Hz. You can also switch to a profile with a resolution of 1920×1200 pixels, with the refresh rate going up to 240Hz. ASUS states that the parameters are adjusted via the drivers in the panel. This screen has a maximum brightness of 500cd/m² and a contrast ratio of 1200:1.

The other option is a ROG Nebula HDR display. That is a mini LED panel with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels. The lighting consists of 512 dimmable zones and the maximum brightness is up to 1000cd/m². According to ASUS, the contrast ratio is 100,000:1. This display is VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certified. Both panels have a response time of 3ms.

ASUS puts new AMD Ryzen processors in the Zephyrus Duo 16, including the Ryzen 9 6980HX. The video card is a maximum of an RTX 3080 Ti with a TGP of 150W. There is up to 64GB DDR5-4800 in the laptop and a PCIe SSD of up to 4TB. When the new Zephyrus top model will be released and at what price has not yet been announced.

ASUS ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet

Furthermore, ASUS presents the ROG Flow Z13; a gaming tablet that resembles a Microsoft Surface-like device. It is a tablet with a separate keyboard. Last year ASUS released the ROG Flow X13; that was a convertible, where the keyboard could not be disconnected. The Z13 is not the successor, but a new model. ASUS is also releasing a new version of the X13.

The Flow Z13 is 12mm thin and weighs 1.1kg. At the back is a built-in kickstand with which the tablet can be tilted up to 170 degrees. The supplied keyboard has a connection that works with magnets and also serves as a cover. The tablet has a 56Wh battery and an 8-megapixel camera on the back.

In the Flow X13 ASUS uses processors from AMD, but for the Z13 the manufacturer switches to Intel. The gaming tablet will receive an Intel Alder Lake processor, which means the tablet will also receive support for Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6E. The tablet contains a maximum of one RTX 3050 Ti video card. The cooling works with a vapor chamber that occupies 44 percent of the motherboard.

The 13″ screen has a 16:10 ratio and there is a choice of a 4k+ panel with a refresh rate of 60Hz or an FHD+ screen that goes up to 120Hz. Both screens have a maximum brightness of 500cd/m².

Like the Flow X13, the Flow Z13 can be connected to the XG Mobile station. That is a compact proprietary external GPU from ASUS. It contains a maximum of a mobile version of the RTX 3080, but ASUS says that a variant will also appear with new Radeon GPUs. It is not yet known when the ROG Flow Z13 will hit the market and what the device will cost.
